Why I Wrote This Book
To Ignite the Entrepreneurial Spark
Every world-changing venture begins with a single, audacious act: the decision to start. Yet too often, aspiring entrepreneurs never start — held back not by a lack of ideas, but by a mindset that whispers doubt, delays action, and demands perfection.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
This book is your invitation to break free from those chains, to rewire your thinking, and to embrace the bold, imperfect, rewarding, and exhilarating journey of entrepreneurship. It is a call to transform your mindset from hesitation to action, from fear to possibility, from dreaming to doing.
You have to understand your own personal DNA. Don't do things because I do them or Steve Jobs or Mark Cuban tried it. You need to know your personal brand and stay true to it.
When you start a business everything is hard & inefficient. You have: No skills. No money. No friends. You only have time. And you have to invest time inefficiently to become efficient.
Accept early inefficiencies as part of the process. Dedicate your time to learning through trial and error. Move forward step by step.
No matter what job you have, make yourself indispensable.
My dad showed me that taking action leads to learning and applying that learning leads to success. He proved that you don't need a degree to be successful. He left the orphanage before he graduated high school, and yet he built an extremely successful business during the Great Depression, sold that business to serve in the Coast Guard in WWII, earned his GED later in life, and had an extremely successful sales and sales management career providing a comfortable and wonderful life for his 10 children.
Entrepreneurship is not reserved for the elite or the fearless. It's a path open to anyone willing to do something, see problems as opportunities, persist through setbacks, seek to continuously improve, and ultimately create value.
Entrepreneurs are rare, extremely so. But their skill set is not so uncommon, and I believe it to be something you already possess. It comes down to making a single choice: taking on a problem nobody else has ever solved and doing whatever it takes to solve it. The first step is finding a problem that is perfect for you.
From Leah Solivan, who turned a dog food errand into TaskRabbit's gig economy revolution, to Sal Khan, whose tutoring videos sparked Khan Academy's global reach — history is filled with ordinary people, just like you, who changed the world by acting on their vision and persisting through difficulties to see their efforts result in building incredible value and success.
A mindset that prioritizes progress over perfection, impact over excuses, and action over analysis.
My goal in this book is that you will be inspired by the triumphs and struggles of entrepreneurs who dared to start, and that you will apply some of the proven strategies that will power your success.
This is more than a clever phrase. It is a way of thinking — a mindset — that can move you from thinking, talking, dreaming, and planning to taking action. We'll explore how to cultivate a mindset that embraces risk, learns from failure, and finds opportunity in every challenge.
I think the reality is that it's never been a better time to be an entrepreneur, it's never been a better time to work at a startup. You work at a really intellectually free environment, you get to work with people who are like-minded, it's very energetic. It's wonderful.
In this book you'll learn why taking the first step, however small, is the catalyst for success. How repetition builds mastery, why improvement is critical, and that every interaction is an opportunity to sell your vision.
This book will empower you to shift your perspective from thinking to doing. Through practical strategies and real-world stories, you will learn how to overcome obstacles and create value by turning your ideas into reality.
Is brimming with possibility.
Technology, connectivity, and communities on new media platforms have lowered barriers, making now the most opportune time in history to act. Whether you're launching a startup, scaling a side hustle, or reimagining an industry, let this book guide you to unlock the entrepreneurial spirit within.
Nothing happens until you "Do", so let's begin.
Change your mindset, take action, and build something that changes the world, one courageous step at a time.
Dreams only work if you do.
In this book:
You will notice that some key words and ideas are repeated multiple times. This is not a mistake or poor editing — repetition is the key to understanding, moving from data to information to knowledge (knowing what), ultimately leading to wisdom (knowing how and when).
Knowledge is a process of piling up facts; wisdom lies in their simplification.
You will notice I use a lot of quotes — mine and others, with attribution — to demonstrate that these concepts are nothing new. Instead, they are time-tested ideas expressed by real people, applying proven strategies.
The more extensive a man's knowledge of what has been done, the greater will be his power of knowing what to do.
You will notice many stories of successful entrepreneurs as a way of demonstrating what ordinary people can accomplish.
Every single day, in every walk of life, ordinary people do extraordinary things.
If I inspire one person through this book to change their mind and take their first step in their entrepreneurial journey, I will be very happy!
